Transplant procedures can be somewhat painful mainly due to local anesthesia with injections into the scalp. Patients hate needles. But new procedures do not involve needles. It works by forcing anesthetic under the skin at high pressure. Instead of a needle prick, it gives a much milder sensation, wich is excellent news for somebody being otherwise stung multiple times on the scalp.
And a caution: this system could cause bruising in some people, so it is not suitable for everyone.
